  • *FAFSA Update*

    Federal Student Aid (FSA) announced that the 2024-25 FAFSA will go live by December 31, 2023, meeting the statutory requirement that the form must be available by January 1. 

    Along with the release date, FSA announced in its FAFSA road map that, while the application itself will be live, it will not begin processing FAFSA forms submitted online until January 2024. Institutions will begin receiving Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) by the end of January 2024.

    Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW)  

    Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW) is a week long immersive summer education program on a college campus where students explore modern business. Participants work together to run a company and gain invaluable knowledge, relevant skills, and discover how their talents translate into great careers.

    Current Sophomores and Juniors can apply. The cost is low - $295 for the entire program and financial aid and payment plans are available. PFEW grads are automatically eligible for college scholarships.

    Delaware County Community College - Dual Enrollment Program - CHECK THIS OUT!!!!
     
    DCCC is pleased to announce a special opportunity for high school juniors and seniors.  Students may enroll in college classes at DCCC while completing their high school curriculum.  Eligible juniors may take up to 9 credits, and seniors may take up to 12 credits at the amazing reduced rates of $50 per credit (with fees included) for a sponsoring school district, and $100 per credit (with fees included) for a non-sponsoring district.  The $25 application fee is also waived.

    Common Application Essay Prompts:

    1. Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.
    2. The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
    3. Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?
    4. Reflect on something that someone has done for you that has made you happy or thankful in a surprising way. How has this gratitude affected or motivated you?
    5. Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
    6. Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
    7. Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you've already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.
